Feeding the Soul in Winter

تغذية الروح في الشتاء

As the temperature drops in winter, our mood can decline, physical movement often decreases, and feelings of isolation may increase. The balance of our nervous system can also be affected by vitamin D deficiency, reduced physical activity, and the cold weather. However, food can serve as a comforting remedy. Certain foods can provide warmth not only to the body but also to the spirit:

1. Lentil Soup

   - Lentils are rich in tryptophan, which is essential for serotonin production.

   - Add cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric.

   - Eat slowly, with the intention of sharing warmth.

2.Dark Chocolate (85%)

   - This helps stimulate the release of endorphins.

   - Two small pieces a day are enough.

   - Enjoy it alone, in silence, and eat it slowly.

3.Walnuts

   - Rich in omega-3 fatty acids and magnesium.

   - Soak 5–7 walnuts overnight and eat them in the morning.

   - This recipe can effectively reduce mental fog.

4. Grilled Sweet Potatoes

   - A natural source of complex carbohydrates.

   - The peels are rich in fiber.

   - Serve with a spoonful of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and milk.

Even if you feel exhausted, preparing these foods yourself can be a way to connect with life.
